La banda sueca AMARANTHE sigue paseando su cuarto trabajo de estudio “Maximalism” por todo el mundo a base de giras y presentaciones en festivales. Están viviendo un gran momento, pese a recibir algunas criticas por alguna sde sus nuevas composiciones. A base de actitud y buenos conciertos han sabido convencer y meterse a su publico en el bolsillo.
AMARANTHE nos visitaran en agosto, concretamente en Leyendas Del Rock, aunque no nos visitaran en su gira europea de octubre. Con su vocalista Elize Ryd hablamos de ellos, la incorporación de un nuevo vocalista, Nils Molin, y de todo lo que rodea a la banda.

Habéis estado tocando por América y Europa, estos meses de verano estáis tocando en festivales, y por lo que leo y veo vuestros fans son cada vez muchos más y estáis recibiendo un gran apoyo. Como os sentís?
Fue increíble, estamos muy agradecidos, y yo especialmente muy feliz por tener la sensación que el mundo se vuelve cada vez más pequeño. Esto es lo que he soñado siempre, tener gente de todo el mundo oyendo mis letras y melodías. O música. Todos esperamos que podamos continuar creciendo y tener esta gran sensación desde todo el mundo por los años venideros.

Hace menos de un año que se editó “Maximalism”, vuestro cuarto trabajo de estudio. Un disco que ha sido muy bien recibido por los fans y por la prensa. Contentos con los resultados? Se han cumplido vuestros objetivos?
Con este álbum si, siempre hablábamos sobre hasta donde podíamos superar los límites. Pienso que hay fronteras en la escena metal que hemos cruzado desde el principio. Pero esta vez queríamos llevarlo al límite. Desde que somos una banda afortunada, tenemos una gran base de fans y sabemos que ellos siempre aceptan nuestro sonido. Nuestros fans no prejuzgan en este sentido, esta es una cosa con la que realmente conectamos y amamos de nuestros fans.

Pero al inicio se creó mucha expectación con “Maximalism”, había muchas más influencias y sonidos diferentes con respecto a vuestro anterior trabajo. Canciones como “That Song” sorprendieron bastante a vuestros seguidores.
Había algunas cosas queridas y algunas cosas odiadas, pero eso no significa que deje de gustarles Amaranthe. Esta canción, o esta otra demuestran que nosotros no tenemos límites. Nosotros, como cada humano, tenemos diferentes estilos de vida y algunos días esto es lo que sentimos, y esto es como nuestro punto débil, y algunos días parecemos algo completamente diferente. Pero si esto se convirtió en el resultado. Es muy honesto y es verdad, porque no forzamos nada, simplemente pasó. Y disfrutamos cada momento en que compusimos esta canción. Si profundizas en ella, entenderás que es cogida de los 90 y refleja como solía ser nuestra vida y nuestras metas. Es muy simple y no lo hemos complicado.

Habéis incorporado a Nils Molin como vocalista a la banda. Que papel juega y que de nuevo aporta a vuestro sonido?
Su trabajo es ser caliente. Canta muy bien también y esto es un plus.

La marcha de Jake afectará a vuestras futuras composiciones?
No, ninguno.

En agosto estaréis en Leyendas Del Rock, esta será vuestra segunda aparición en el festival. Que recordáis de vuestra primera vez?
Sí, tocamos muy temprano, no estaba lleno, pero fue una audiencia entusiasta! El festival en sí mismo fue muy bueno, muchos amigos nuestros tocaron el mismo día, y el buffet del Backstage fue fantástico. Ja ja! Fue el día mas caluroso y el el escenario mas caluroso en el que habíamos estado nunca. Pensé que iba a desmayarme varias veces. Pero ahora se lo que puedo esperar. No vestiré cuero negro esta vez.

Tenéis algo especial preparado para esta ocasión? Que podrán ver vuestros seguidores?
Tenemos a Nils y un buen estado de ánimo. Tocaremos un montón de canciones del nuevo álbum y esto dará una vibración diferente a todo el concierto. Será fantástico!

En octubre arrancáis una gira por casi toda Europa como cabezas de cartel, junto a Eluveitie. Que significa para vosotros?
Es grande finalmente volver a hacer una gira europea. Espero que nos estén esperando. La cosa mas importante es volver antes que la gente nos haya olvidado. Así es como nos sentimos ahora mismo. Demostrar que no nos hemos olvidado de ellos. Es como una relación, necesita dedicación por ambas partes. Europa, ya venimos!

No hay programadas fechas en España, algún motivo en particular?
Perdón, no puedo responder esta pregunta, pero siempre hay alguna mierda , no han podido conseguir una fecha para que toquemos en este periodo de tiempo. No tiene nada que ver con el público ni su apoyo. De todas maneras os pedimos perdón sobre esto.
Además de esta gira, cuáles son los planes de futuro de Amaranthe?
Iremos a Sudamérica como teloneros de Tarja en Argentina, seguidos por algunos pequeños conciertos con Delain. Es algo nuevo para Amaranthe. Hemos estado allí en gira antes, con Kamelot, es muy distinto desde Japón, Europa y USA. Yo estoy excitada por los chicos que finalmente visitaremos Sudamérica y conoceremos nuestros fans allí.
Algún mensaje para vuestros fans en España y en particular los que tengan planeado veros en Leyendas?
Mes siento divina! Os amamos gente, será muy grande volver! Cuidaros, nos vemos pronto!

You have been touring America and Europe, this summer you have been playing in festivals and as I can see you are growing in fans. You have more fans who support you inconditionaly. How do you feel about it?

It feels amazing, we are very grateful, and I am especially very happy to have the feeling that the world gets smaller and smaller. It's something I always dreamed about, to have people from all over the world listening to my lyrics and melodies. Or music. We are all hoping we can continuing to grow and get this great feedback from all over the world for many years to come.

You edited “Maximalism” less than a year before. It is an album with very good reception by fans and press. Are you satisfied with this? Have you get your goals?

With this album yes, we always talked about how far can we stretch the limits. I mean, there are boarders in the metal scene we crossed already from the beginning. But this time we wanted to take it to the limit. Since we are a lucky band, we have a great fan base and we know they've already accepted our sound. Our fans are not judgmental in that sense, which is one thing we really connect in, and love about our fans.

In the beggining there was a lot of expectation about Maximalism, there were a lot of influences and different sounds than your previous work. Songs such that song were a big surprise for your fans.

It was, some loved it and some hated it, but it doesn't mean they stopped liking Amaranthe. This song, or That Song is a statement, it shows that we are Limitless. We, as every human have a diverse lifestyle, and some days this is how we feel, and this is how we groove, and some other days, we rock something totally different. So this became the result. It's very honest, and it's true, because we didn't force anything, it just happened. And we enjoyed every minute of writing That Song. If you go deep into it, you'll understand it's taken from the 90's and it reflects how our life's used to be, and our goals. It was very simple and not so complicated back then.

Niks Molin join the band like vocalist. What is his rol and what is his main apportation to your sound?

His job is to be hot. He sings very well also, so that's a plus.

Jake was gone, can this be a problem in your new compositions?

No, it can't.

In august you will be in Leyendas del rock, it will be your second time in this festival. What could you remember about your first time?

Yes, we played very early in the day, it wasn't packed, but it was still an enthusiastic audience! The festival itself was very good, many friends of ours played the same day, and the backstage buffé was fantastic. Haha! It was the warmest day, and the warmest stage I've ever been at. I thought I was gonna pass out several times. So now I know what to expect. No black leather clothes this time.. 😉

Do you have any special stuff for Leyendas?

We have Nils and a good mood. 🙂

What can your followers see in there?

We're gonna play lot's of songs from the new album, and that puts a different vibe to the whole show. It's gonna be very cool!

In october you will begin a headlining european tour eith Eluveitie. What means it for you?

It's great to finally go back on tour in Europe. I hope they been waiting for us. The most important thing is to come back before people forgets about you. That's how we feel at least.

What is the importance of this tour in your career?

To show we haven't forgot about them. It's like with any relationship, it has to be dedication, both ways. Europe, we're on our way!

There aren't dates in spain on this tour. Why?

Sorry I can't answer this question, but it's always something shitty like, they couldn't get a venue for us to play in at that period of time. It has nothing to do with the audience, or their support. Anyways, we are of course very sorry about that.

This tour apart what are the future plans of Amaranthe?

We are going to South America to support Tarja in Argentina, followed by a few smaller shows with Delain. This is something new for Amaranthe. I've been there touring before, with Kamelot, it's very different from Japan, Europe and USA. I'm exited for the guys to finally visit South America and meet our fans there.

Could you send a message to your spanish fans, particulary who will be in leyendas?
