La banda noruega de black metal VREID serán los segundos en pisar el escenario Mark Reale en la última jornada de la doceava edición de Leyendas Del Rock. VREID siguen disfrutando del éxito de su séptimo álbum "Sólverv", editado en 2015. En estos momentos se encuentran ya trabajando en su próxima obra, y siguen visitando festivales. Hablamos con su bajista HVÁLL para ver en que punto se encuentran.

He visto en vuestro facebook que estáis trabajando en un nuevo disco, en qué punto os encontráis y que planes tenéis para este nuevo disco?
Actualmente estamos escribiendo un montón de cosas nuevas, y pronto comenzarán las pre-producciones. Este año todo lo hemos dedicado al nuevo álbum.

Que nos puedes contar de las nuevas composiciones? Hay cambios con respecto al sonido de “Sólverv”?
Es pronto para hablar de ello. Será definitivamente un álbum con sonido Vreid, pero también tiene algunos elementos nuevos en él. Tengo una gran fe en este álbum, y es la única cosa en mi mente en este momento.

Y en cuanto a letras, “Sólverv” era como un repaso a vuestro tiempo pasado, una mirada atrás. Por donde irán las del nuevo disco?
Por ahora me he centrado en la música, pero tengo muchas ideas para las letras, así que el tiempo lo dirá. Es pronto todavía para hablar de las letras.

"Sólverv” tiene ya casi 2 años, recibió muy buenas críticas en medios. Satisfechos de cómo ha funcionado este disco?
Sí, muy satisfecho. Sigo pensando que es nuestro disco más fuerte. Hemos viajado y tocado mucho en este álbum, y estoy seguro de que varias de estas canciones estarán en nuestro setlist en los próximos años.

En 13 años de carrera habéis editado 7 discos de estudio, que es muy buen ritmo, y habéis conseguido un buen estatus. Que balance haríais de este tiempo y lo conseguido?
Nunca miro hacia atrás. Para mí Vreid es todo acerca de la creatividad y conquistar nuevos territorios. Es una marcha eterna hacia adelante, y no conozco otra forma de vivir.

Leí  que en “Solverv” tuvisteis ciertas influencias de bandas como Keep of Kalessin, con los que habéis girado. Vuestro sonido es bastante personal. Cuales son vuestras influencias más directas?
Me inspiro en todo tipo de música y sus cambios de vez en cuando. Pero bandas como Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Death, Emperor, Sepultura, Slayer y Burzum siempre serán sagradas para mí.

En Agosto estaréis en Leyendas Del Rock, en España. No se si conocéis el festival y tenéis referencias.
He oído grandes cosas sobre el festival, y estamos honrados de poder tocar un festival tan grande en su hermoso país.

Que ofreceréis en vuestro concierto en Leyendas Del Rock? Tenéis algo especial preparado?
Haremos lo que siempre hacemos. Tocaremos como si fuera nuestro último concierto.

Supongo que la grabación del nuevo disco y los conciertos que os quedan en este año será parte de vuestro futuro inmediato. Que otros proyectos tenéis en mente?
Todo se centra en la creación del nuevo álbum, luego haremos un gran tour en 2018 y 2019.

Para cerrar, que mensaje mandaríais a vuestros fans y en particular de los que asistan a Leyendas?
Haremos que nuestro show sea el infierno!, nos vemos pronto.

I have seen on your Facebook that you are working on a new album. At what point are you and what plans do you have for this new album?
Currently we are writing a lot of new stuff, and will soon start the pre-productions. This year has all been dedicated to the new album

What can you tell us about the new compositions? Are there any changes regarding the sound of the album "Sólverv»?
To early to tell. It will definitive be a Vreid sounding album, but also have some new elements in it. I have strong faith in this album, and it’s the only thing on my mind at the moment.

As for lyrics, "Sólverv" was like a review of your past time, a look back. Where will the lyrics in this album go?
Still to early to tell. For now I have been focusing on the music, but I do have a lot of ideas for the lyrics, so time will tell.

"Sólverv" was released almost 2 years ago. It received very good reviews in the media. Are you satisfied with how this album worked?
Yes, extremely satisfied. I still think its our strongest album ever. We have toured a lot on this album, and I am sure that several of these songs will be in our livesets for years to come.

In 13 years of career you have released seven studio albums, which is a very good rhythm, and you have achieved a good status. What balance would you make of all this time and all that has been achieved?
I never look back. For me Vreid is all about creativity and conquer new territories. Its an everlasting march forward, and I don’t know any other way to live.

I read that in "Sólverv" you had some influences from bands like Keep of Kalessin, with which you have shared tour. Your sound is quite personal. What are your most important influences?
I get in inspired by all kinds of music and its changes from time to time. But bands like Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Death, Emperor, Sepultura, Slayer and Burzum will always be sacred to me.

In August you will be in Leyendas del Rock, in Spain. I do not know if you know the festival and you have some reference about the festival...
I have heard great things about the festival, and we are honored to be able to play such a great festival in your beautiful country.

What will you offer in your show in Leyendas del Rock? Do you have something special in mind?
We will do as we always do. Play like its our last show ever.

I suppose that the recording of the new album and the concerts that remain in this year will be part of your immediate future. What other projects do you have right now?
All focus is on creating the new album, then we will tour a lot in 2018 and 2019.

What message would you send to your fans and in particular to the fans who come to the Leyendas Del Rock festival?
Lets make it one hell of a show, see you soon.
