Desde TNT RADIO ROCK, me dispongo a entrevistar a LionSoul, la banda italiana de Power Metal que está ganando terreno en su subgénero. Surgida a finales de 2009, está formada por Aurelio Parise (guitarra), Iván Castelli (voz), Roberto Poli (bajista), Luca Secomandi (Batería) y Giuliano Canu (teclados). LionSoul ha publicado su álbum debut “Omega”, que cuenta con 12 temas. Pero, dejemos que ellos nos cuenten los secretos que esconde este álbum.
P.M: Buenas chicos! ¿Estáis contentos con la acogida por parte del público y de los medios especializados de vuestro álbum?
Lion: Hola a todos los amigos de TNT Radio rock! Por supuesto, estamos contentos con la acogida que ha tenido por parte del público, nunca hubiéramos esperado una respuesta tan cálida. Dimos toda nuestra alma escribiendo “Omega” y, posteriormente, en la disposición de las canciones con la banda.
P.M: ¿Cómo fue la grabación de “Omega"? ¿Alguna anécdota qué queráis compartir con nosotros?
Lion: "Omega" es la creación de un trabajo que se podría definir como “Titanic”, por el esfuerzo y el tiempo invertido en las grabaciones: nos cuidaron con detalle como unos maníacos, desde la perspectiva de los aspectos técnicos. La sesión entera se ha hecho en casa, después fuimos al estudio de Francesco Matano, que completó el trabajo impecablemente, de mezcla y masterización.
P.M: “Omega” nos ofrece un Power Metal fresco y con una calidad compositiva bastante alta. ¿En qué os habéis basado para grabar este álbum? ¿Y para componer? ¿Cuál es vuestra fuente de inspiración?
Lion: Las bandas que hemos escuchado hasta ahora han sido la fuente de inspiración, pero queremos señalar que nos hemos dado cuenta que la mayoría de esos grupos que suelen hablar a menudo de la mitología nórdica o la fantasía, como los italianos lo hacemos de los mitos y la historia de la zona Mediterránea que la sentimos más cerca. El álbum es un conjunto de historias inconexas donde la antigua Grecia, es el único hilo lógico.
Omega es el resultado de la pasión por la historia antigua y la investigación de esta con las posibles conexiones con el presente. Escribimos todas las letras y no simplemente como una lista de eventos que sucedieron, sino más bien como si hubiera un hipotético narrador omnisciente que ha vivido esas historias adecuadamente, dándole un toque dramático a las composiciones.
P.M: ¿Qué significa para vosotros “Omega”? ¿Y qué diríais a una persona que nunca os ha escuchado sobre lo qué va a encontrar en este trabajo?
Lion: Personalmente, “Omega” es el extremo que conduce a un nuevo y más experimentado principio. Hablando de las letras nos trasladamos desde el la Titanomaquía en Heavenly Ride, a la Gigantomaquia en Nuevo Horizonte, al mito de la Atlántida, a Dioniso y su mente delirante, Prometeo y el rapto del fuego en “The Prescient”, y luego un enorme tramo desde Alejandro Magno hasta el resto de las historias como, ya he dicho: el hilo lógico es el mito y la historia de los antiguos griegos. La letra de la canción “Omega” es una oda a la magnificencia del gran líder macedonio, pero, y a sabes, todo deseo de grandeza está a menudo rodeado de la locura, y el exceso llevó a Alejandro a su fin. El exceso puede ser otra de las claves, que combinan las historias de “Omega”: casi todos los personajes mencionados quieren superarse a sí mismos, lo que les lleva a perjudicarse a menudo.
P.M: Pero, cambiemos de tema. ¿Tenéis algún material preparado para un segundo disco? ¿Composiciones, demos, grabaciones? ¿Algo qué podáis compartir con los lectores de TNT?
Lion: Sí, hemos escrito algo nuevo que mantenemos a un lado de momento. Creo que es demasiado pronto para pensar en el segundo disco, ahora mismo es el momento de centrarse en los conciertos en vivo.
P.M: En cuanto a fechas para presentar el trabajo, ¿tenéis algunas confirmadas y qué podáis contarnos?
Lion: Estamos centrados en la preparación de nuestro show en vivo, y poniéndonos en contacto con los propietarios de los clubs y los organizadores de festivales, ¡ya con ganas de encender el maldito escenario tan pronto como sea posible!
P.M: ¿Alguna colaboración qué os guardéis bajo la manga?
Lion: Bueno, no, pero estamos notando que algún lugar de España y en algunos países, hay personas que han disfrutado con nuestro cd y quieren colaborar con nosotros. ¿No crees?
P.M: ¿Y videoclips? ¿Tenéis pensando realizar alguno para acompañar alguno de los temas de “Omega”?
Lion: No excluimos la idea de hacer un videoclip, ahora mismo queremos hacer un montaje con una versión del año pasado, del demo “La Prescient”, la cual se puede ver en nuestra página web (www.lionsoul.it), nuestro canal de Youtube “LionSoul” y en nuestra página de Facebook.
P.M: ¿Si tuvierais la posibilidad de tocar con vuestros ídolos tanto a nivel nacional, como internacional, con quiénes serían?
Lion: ¡Sería muy bueno compartir escenario con grandes bandas como Helloween, Gammaray y otras muchas más!
P.M: Y como broche final para esta entrevista, ¿visitaréis España próximamente?
Lion: ¡Sí, esperemos que pronto! Ya hemos estado en España como turistas y es un lugar increíble. Algunos de nuestros recuerdos han desaparecido entre la cerveza y las noches locas, pero lo que sí recordamos con certeza es que la gente es muy amable y acogedora. Sí. ¡sería genial tocar en algún lugar de vuestro país!

P.M: Hey! Are you pleased with the recepction of the public and the media about your album?
Lion: Hola a todos los amigos de TNT Radio rock! Yeah of course, we’re happy about the feedback of the people, we would never have expected such a warm response. We gave our soul writing Omega and thereafter in the arrangement of the songs with the band.
P.M: How was the recording of ´´Omega´´? Any anecdote that you want to share with us?
Lion: Omega is the brainchild of a job that could be defined "Titanic" for the effort and time spent in the recordings: we looked after every detail maniacally, from the technical aspects to logistics. The whole recording session has been homemade then after we went in the studio to Francesco Matano who completed the work impeccably with the mixing and mastering.
P.M: Omega give us a fresh power metal with a high compositive quality. What have you take as reference to record this album? What is your inspiration source?
Lion: The bands that we have heard so far have been a strong inspiration for sure but we wanna point out we have realized that most of the bands who play power often talk about Norse mythology or fantasy, as italians we feel more close to the myths and history of the Mediterranean area. The album is a set of unconnected stories where the ancient Greece is the only logical thread. Whatever you think, Omega is the result of passion for the past history and research of the possible connections with the present. We write all the lyrics not simply as a list of events that happened, but rather as if there was a hypothetical omniscient narrator who has lived those stories properly, adding a dramatic aspect to the compositions.
P.M: What is the meaning of Omega for u? What do u say to someone who has never heard you, about what they can find in this album?
Lion: Personally “The Omega” is the end which leads to a new and more experienced beginning. Talking about the lyrics we moved from the Titanomachy in Heavenly Ride to the Gigantomachy in New Horizon, the myth of Atlantis, Dionysus and his Delirious mind, Prometheus and the theft of fire in "The prescient" and then a huge space to Alexander the Great for the rest of the stories, as I already sayd the logical thread is the myth and history of the ancient Greeks. The lyrics of the song “Omega” is an ode to the magnificence of the great Macedonian leader, but, you know, every lust for greatness is often surrounded by madness, the excess that led Alexander to to the end. Excess may be another key that combines the stories of Omega: almost all the characters mentioned want to outdo themselves, thing that leads them to be damaged more often.
P.M: But, Let us move to another topic. Do you have any material for a second CD? Compositions, demos, recordings? Do you have anything that u could share with TNT audience?
Lion: Yes, we have written something new that we keep aside for now. I think it´s still too soon to think about the second album, now it’s time to focus on live concerts.
P.M: About dates of introducing your album, do you have any date confirmed? What could you tell us about it?
Lion: We are concentrated in preparing of our live show, we’re in contact with club owners and festival organizers looking forward to ignite the fucking stage as soon as possible!
P.M: Do you have any collaboration which you have as ace in the hole?
Lion: Well, no but we are noticing that somewhere in Spain and some other countries there are people who have enjoyed our cd which is already collaborative toward us? Don’t you think?
P.M: And videoclips? Do u have in mind to make any videoclip to any song of Omega?
Lion: We do not exclude the idea of making a video clip, at the moment we have just a little montage made last year for the demo version of "The Prescient" , you can see it on our website (www.lionsoul.it), you tube LionSoul channel and on our facebook page!
P.M: If you could play with your idols (national and international) who would be they?
Lion: It would be great to share the stage with great bands like Helloween, Gammaray and many more!
P.M: As the finishing touch , will you visit Spain soon?
Lion: Yeah, we hope it soon! We already have been in Spain as turists,i san amazing place, some memory has vanished between a beer and las noches locas, what we remember for sure is that people are really friendly and welcoming , yes, it would be great to play somewhere in your country!
